## Definition

**Consensus** is the shared agreement or common view reached by a group or across a body of sources.

In the channel's material on **writing with AI**, *consensus* is used in its everyday sense: the shared view that a group or a body of sources has converged on. It is a reference point a writer can check a draft against — and, when the goal is to stand out, a baseline to push against rather than simply reproduce.
