## Definition

The **GPT Store** is OpenAI's public marketplace where custom GPTs are published and discovered, with trending categories and planned monetization for builders. [^09427ced-b7a9-5601-afc2-f168dc072aea@2339] [^09427ced-b7a9-5601-afc2-f168dc072aea@6190]

The **GPT Store** is OpenAI's public directory for discovering custom GPTs. In the channel's material, it appears as the place where the custom GPTs you build live once shared — and where naming, categories, and discoverability start to matter. [^09427ced-b7a9-5601-afc2-f168dc072aea@2339]- **Naming is SEO.** When Kilpatrick and Shipper name their budget-reallocating game _Allocator_, the specificity is deliberate: generic names get buried in **GPT Store SEO saturation**. [^09427ced-b7a9-5601-afc2-f168dc072aea@2339]- **Open lanes.** The store's trending categories had almost no games at the time, despite text-based games having a proven track record — framed as an opportunity for builders. [^09427ced-b7a9-5601-afc2-f168dc072aea@1649]- **Monetization is coming.** The closing push is to build now: early GPTs that attract users will be positioned to earn when GPT monetization launches. [^09427ced-b7a9-5601-afc2-f168dc072aea@6190]- The GPT Store is the **discovery surface for custom GPTs**. [^09427ced-b7a9-5601-afc2-f168dc072aea@2339]- **Specific names** beat generic ones in a saturated store. [^09427ced-b7a9-5601-afc2-f168dc072aea@2339]- Under-served categories (like games) and **upcoming monetization** make it a builder's opportunity.
