## Definition

**vibes document** — a written, reusable reference that captures your visual direction and taste — what you want, and how to steer tools toward it — so your judgment can be reproduced deliberately across a creative AI pipeline.

In this channel's material, a **vibes document** shows up in the context of *Design and Creative Work with AI*: the shift from pushing pixels to **art direction**. Once generating images and interfaces becomes trivial, the scarce skill is knowing *what you want* — and a vibes document is the artifact that captures that judgment in written, reusable form, alongside sibling assets like skills and prompt formulas that encode your taste so it can be reproduced across a pipeline [^aa3dd42d-6bf2-5aa5-ab33-410533e657b9]. That chapter's promise is exactly this move: *define a visual direction*, *prompt and steer image models deliberately*, and *capture your taste in reusable assets* — the vibes document is where that capture starts [^aa3dd42d-6bf2-5aa5-ab33-410533e657b9].The channel frames the difference between mediocre AI output and polished work as **almost entirely process, not luck**. A vibes document is part of that process: it turns a loose visual instinct into a deliberate reference you can steer tools with, and it clarifies where human judgment — and the right human hand-off — belongs at each stage of a creative pipeline [^aa3dd42d-6bf2-5aa5-ab33-410533e657b9].
