In this channel material, backstory is the personal history you give an AI companion or AI coach — the context about who you are, what matters to you, and what you have been through — so the model can interact with you specifically rather than generically. It connects to the channel approach of building a context-rich document that makes the model coach you specifically, and to companion apps like Nomi and Kindroid, where a shared backstory is what makes an AI companion feel like it knows you. Explore how backstory supports genuinely personalized AI interaction — and where a model still needs a human in the loop.
